Privacy Policy

PicklePlay helps friends and club groups organise pickleball events. This policy explains exactly what the app stores, why, and what it never does.
The short version
We store the minimum needed to run events: your account, your name, and your match results. There are no ads and no third-party trackers in this app. The only thing we measure about your use of it is a count of when the Organizer Unlock screen is opened and bought from, kept on our own server. We do not sell or share your personal information, and you can delete your account and all of its data from inside the app at any time.
What we collect

We count this so we can tell whether the app is worth continuing to build. It records the action and the time against your account — nothing about what you do elsewhere — and it is never sold, shared, or sent to any other company. |

What we do not collect
- No advertising, ever. There are no ad networks in this app.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. Nothing in the app reports to an outside company; the only usage we count is described above, and it stays on our own server. We do not profile you or follow you across apps or websites.
- No location data. An event's location is free text typed by the organiser; the app never reads your device location.
- No contacts access. Players are found by an in-app name search that returns only a name and photo.
- No payment details. Purchases go through Apple.
Device permissions
Calendar — write only
If you tap "Add to Calendar", the app asks for write-only calendar access and adds that single event. It is technically unable to read your calendar, and no calendar data is ever sent to our servers.
Notifications — on your device only
Event reminders are scheduled locally by your iPhone. There is no push server, and no notification content leaves your device.
Photos — only what you pick
If you set a profile photo, only the image you select is uploaded. The app has no access to the rest of your library.
About your rating
PicklePlay keeps its own internal skill rating on a 2.000–8.000 scale, used only to help organisers arrange balanced games. This rating lives only in PicklePlay and is not connected to, and does not affect, any other rating system. You may enter a rating you already hold elsewhere, or a self-assessment, as a starting point; after that the app updates the number from your match results.
If you turn the rating visibility setting off, other players see "Hidden" instead of your number — and the number genuinely is not sent to their devices. Organisers can still use it behind the scenes to balance teams, and an event with a minimum rating can decline a join request without revealing your figure.
Where your data is stored
PicklePlay uses Supabase for its database, authentication, and photo storage. Supabase processes this data on our behalf as a service provider; it is not sold or shared for advertising. Apple processes Sign in with Apple and all purchases under Apple's privacy policy.
Who can see your information
- Your name and photo are visible to people in events you share.
- Your rating is visible to others only if you turn that setting on.
- Your email address is never shown to other users.
- A name search returns only a name and photo — never emails or ratings.
Deleting your account
Open Settings → Delete Account in the app. This permanently removes your account, profile, photo, rating history, and event participation. It cannot be undone. Match records in events you played may remain visible to other participants in anonymised form so their own results stay intact.
Children
PicklePlay is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app.
